The coastal lines of Sri Lanka meet the Indian Ocean which sits close to the lines of the equator to the south west of the Bay of Bengal, the Palk Strait and the Gulf of Mannar. Given the blessing of amicable climes, the location of Sri Lanka allows you to enjoy the tropical weather all year round with average temperature ranging from 26 °C to nearly 31° C. Also it houses several kinds of terrain ranging from some of the world’s best beaches to misty mountains that bring out the poet in you. Sri Lanka's location however is visited by the tropical monsoons, causing heavy thunder showers during different times of the year in different areas. Spanning a total of 25, 332 sq miles, Sri Lanka’s neighbours include India and the Maldives.
